My Photography Gear:)

I thought I would give my lil babies some attention and take their picture:) I love the blog posts from photographers when they show what is in "their bag" so this is my version:)

Camera Bodies:

Canon 7D - My Dane surprised me with this camera for Christmas 2010. He got me a 70-300 as a present and I was soooo excited about it, so I took it out and started playing with it..and I thought Christmas was over. So I'm cleaning up all the wrapping paper and then here my love comes around the corner with one last present. I tore off the wrapping paper in one quick swipe and when I read "7D" I started crying lol...I wanted it so bad but knew how expensive it was and my current camera was perfectly fine. Talk about a GREAT Christmas:)

Canon 5D Mark II - I had been doing sessions like CRAZY for three months. I'm talking two every weekend for 3 months straight & two of those were WEDDINGS! My husband was also working nights on a 1 1/2 month turnaround at his job so money was flowing quite well those months...so the hubs called one morning while I was at my moms and sweetly said "Babe, if you want to go buy your 5D today you can." I was elated! Needless to say, I was at Best Buy when they opened that morning:)

Lenses:

Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM - This was my first expensive camera purchase for my 7D. I really wanted a good wide angle lens and I did quite a bit of research before I opted for this baby:) I'm very happy with it and even though the f/stop isn't as low as my other lenses, I don't really mind. I use this lens when I want the drama of the landscape and generally my stop is usually around 4.5 or 5 and they're great shots.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM - Ahhh this is perfection. This is my "GO-TO" lens for all sessions. I love shooting as low as 1.2 and getting that amazing depth of field in some shots. It is just an all around GREAT portrait lens. Well worth the $$ for sure!

Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L USM - This is my baby. I'm obsessed with this lens. It is SO heavy and just a huge piece of glass...but what a fine piece of glass it is. It's my newest one so I've only been able to shoot a few sessions with it but I'm extremely happy with the outcome of the photos when it was used. It is quite pricey..but again, I think worth it:)

-Next to my computer/desk area, I keep my "wish list" tacked on the wall next to me so I can always see what I'm hoping to add to my gear. It's a constant reminder to work hard and try and cross these things off my list as they come to my front door:)

I also recently received my cute lil camera strap in the mail..I LOVE it:)

Well, I'm off to bed. If I go to bed now, I'll get a good 6 hours! lol

xx
